Painting & Drawing Group 1

When: every Monday, 10.15 - 12.15
Where: St John's Church, Selsdon
The group is full at the moment but would be happy to put anyone interested on a waiting list.
New members are welcome to contact the group leader and would be welcome to come along for one free session.
We are a small group of nine and meet every Monday morning (term time) in the Garden Room of St John's Church in Selsdon. The cost of the hall is £25 per morning which is divided between the nine of us and paid monthly. We arrive 10 minutes early to set up the tables, they are not large and very easy to put up. The small, cosy and warm room has a small fridge, kettle, cups and sink so it’s very easy to put the kettle on and make a hot drink - bring your own milk and tea/coffee.
There is a large car park but it tends to get busy on a Monday morning as there is a mother and toddler group at the same time in the main church hall. There is off-street parking.
We are a very happy, friendly and sociable group who love to paint for relaxation and pleasure. We have no teacher but bring our knowledge, our own paints, (most use watercolour or acrylics for ease of transport), paper and pencils and a picture of our choice to paint and we help each other in any way we can. We generally all pause at some stage of the morning for a wander round to admire/give advice if asked, on each other's work.
We have held exhibitions of our work at The Clocktower Café in the Croydon Library building (not everyone wants to exhibit), and generally arrange a trip out together in the summer and keep in touch during the week on our WhatsApp group.
To find out more please contact the group leader (Christine Beggan).
