After being unable to recruit a suitable instructor or u3a member with the training, we decided to follow on-line sessions as a group in person. This has been a great success and has a number of benefits –
- we come together to enjoy the companionship
- it is very cheap – only a small cost to hire the room
- there is a huge range of You Tube videos available so we can vary the presenter and style
- we can play back and repeat a tricky bit if necessary
- everyone can see and hear the instructor who is projected onto the screen
- members can follow up at home.
Tai Chi helps with flexibility, co-ordination and balance. It is gentle and calming. Members all report that they love the sessions. There is no competitive element. The sessions are completed standing but sometimes members need to sit down and the moves can be adapted. Occasionally we have a fun element as with our recent 12 Days of Christmas Tai Chi!
If you are not sure, you can attend one session as a trial.
